Tuggeranong Construction Projects
Tuggeranong is the most southern region in Canberra, and was established in the 1970s. It is the largest region with a population of almost 89,500 at 30 June 2008.1 Its population is projected to decline to approximately 88,250 by 2019.2
It has a major town centre, which is situated on the foreshore of an artificial lake, Lake Tuggeranong. The Tuggeranong Town Centre includes a large shopping centre with department stores and supermarkets. A large secondary college, is collocated with the centre.
Major Commonwealth Government Departments such as the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Centrelink and the Health Insurance Commission are collocated with the town centre.
