Downer Local Centre Revitalisation
Downer residents have helping the ACT Government develop a concept design for the proposed redevelopment of the Downer local centre.
The strategy takes into account the rezoning and subdivision of the former school site - with the view to permitting residential and commercial mixed use development - and strengthening the use and integrity of the existing sportsgrounds, community and heritage facilities.
Community Information Sessions – 9 & 12 May 2012
Downer residents are invited to attend an information session at the Downer Community Centre to view the design concepts for the proposed redevelopment of the Downer Local Centre Precinct.
Residents will have the opportunity to attend one of three sessions:
- 6.30pm-8pm, Wednesday 9 May 2012
- 10am-12pm, Saturday 12 May 2012
- 12pm-2pm, Saturday 12 May 2012
The format for all sessions will be as follows:
- Presentation by CHC Affordable Housing (approximately 20 minutes)
- Question and Answer session
- Attendees are free to move around the room and examine the design concepts on display
Each of these sessions will begin with a presentation by CHC, outlining each of the two design concepts. The community will have the opportunity to study the designs and provide feedback. Further input will also be sought from the community about an expanded community centre.
