Project Information

Certain land development in Gungahlin requires environmental approval. One reason for this is the Australian Government's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) which provides a legal framework to protect and manage matters of national environmental significance such as nationally and internationally important flora, fauna, ecological communities and heritage places.

The ACT Government has parcelled all remaining land sited for release in Gungahlin for a single strategic assessment under the EPBC Act.
