Affordable Housing
The ACT Government released its Affordable Housing Action Plan in April 2007, including 63 initiatives to provide more affordable housing and rental accommodation for Canberrans.
Phase I of the Action Plan focuses on:
- home ownership
- private rental
- community and not-for-profit housing
- public housing and supported accommodation (including emergency housing)
Phase II of the Action Plan was launched in August 2009 and contains a further 21 initiatives designed to increase the supply of affordable housing for older Canberrans, and to address homelessness.
